During worship tonight in the Galilee, I had the most incredible vision I’ve ever seen of Israel before her betrothal. I saw her birth and how she laid there, bloody and abandoned along the way. I saw how G-d cleansed her and cared for her with such tender compassion. And I saw her grow up into the most beautiful young maiden – absolutely stunning. Her eyes were like jewels and she had such a look of purity and innocence.
But then her eyes looked on others with a sense of haughtiness and there was a slight snarl in her lips when she spoke. These features became accentuated over time and I saw how G-d’s heart literally broke when His beloved began to play the harlot with others around her.
The colors in this vision were so vivid and clear, almost like a movie before my eyes. What lingered most was seeing how God‘s heart was so broken by Israel’s unfaithfulness.
After asking Him, “How long, L-rd?”, I saw Him gently lure her into the desert. And there, stripped of all her earthly treasures, she sat on a rock on the ground and began to hear His voice. And there in the desert was the door of hope, waiting to be opened. And the picture of that door of hope lingered.
Praying into that door of hope…
