Living in Israel is truly a wonderful experience which puts us in the very heart of God’s plan for these days. It is God’s intent to gather all the Jewish people back to the land before he returns, never to be uprooted again. In the last days, the Scripture declares that the nations of the earth will march against Israel, intending to destroy it. In that moment, when total defeat seems imminent, the Lord himself will return to Jerusalem and rescue his people. The enemies are defeated by the power of his presence and He sets up his earthly government in an enlarged Jerusalem. He reigns for a 1000 years and over those years, people from all over the world travel to this beloved nation to give honor, glory and praise to the King of Kings.
Looking at the earth today, it seems to make little sense. America has a population of 350 million and China has 1.5 billion people. The European Union has 508 million people. In the natural, it would be more logical to return to one of these countries where most people live. But four thousand years ago, God promised this land to Abraham and his descendants. God will use the humble to confound the wise, the weak to confound the strong. Israel, the least of all peoples is being used to show the might of God’s power.
Then, in the fullness of time, He turned to us and declared that there would have to be a partnership between us and Him in order to see his promises fulfilled. We come in our weakness and God pours his faith and power into us so that in him we can step out into a reality that is far beyond our natural ability.
Touching the Lost
Yesterday we were in a small restaurant in the town of Bet Shemesh. I started a conversation with the young and very sweet waitress. I shared a bit about my early years when I was her age and before I finished I told her how I came to faith in Yeshua when I was a few years older than her. She listened, she smiled and she heard something she had never heard before. Don’t ever forget… “One plants, another waters, God brings the increase.” We were faithful in planting the seeds. The rest is in our prayers and God’s power.
Several days ago we were in the supermarket check out. In the midst of our time with the clerk, I started to ask her about her life. She indicated that she was having some difficulties. I told her of the wonderful blessings that had poured into my life when I opened my heart to Yeshua. I told her who he was and how much he loved her. I had planted the seeds. We are his gardeners and we have the best seeds to give away for free. And as we are faithful in the little, God will give us more.
The Feast of Shavuot is the last holiday of the Spring Feasts. We had a wonderful celebration in our congregation as we encouraged everyone with the reality of the infilling of the Holy Spirit on that day and today. For the first time ever, the annual prayer and worship meeting on the eve of Shavuot was moved from the Revive Israel prayer room to our large congregational hall in the heart of Jerusalem. It was the largest Shavuot prayer meeting to date with 300-400 people attending. It continued to midnight and was live-streamed so that those from the nations could participate. Everyone felt it was a great success and just the beginning of even greater things.
The next morning, believers from all throughout the nation gathered for the annual Shavuot picnic. Over a thousand people attended and it was a blessed day with food, fellowship, worship and prayer. We feel like a waterfall of God’s blessings are being poured out upon the Body of Messiah in these last days in Israel.
Exciting News – NEW BOOK COMING JUNE 15
I have written a book on my healing journey over these past three years.Although it is based on my story, the focus is on the overcoming power of God as we stand on his word and apply it, no matter what battle we may be facing. We will be sending out an update with all the details for ordering.
On my personal health front, keep praying! I am recuperating from the surgery and am doing a chemotherapy treatment, five consecutive days each month. My next MRI is June 13th. As I have said before, it is better by far to go home and be with Yeshua but I feel I still have much to do here. So let’s agree together that what the doctors say is impossible will be manifest in the physical. I will be healed and God will give us many years to finish all that he has put before us.
