Amazing Transformation

A trip to the hospital- for most it is an event that finds little joy or excitement. After all who likes being sick and who enjoys going to the hospital for treatment?

For us, we have undergone a tremendous transformation. What was once a dreaded event has become a day of excitement for us. Please allow me to give you a bit of our history to help you understand all that God has done.

Eight months ago, much to our shock and surprise I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Even more difficult was the prognosis of the doctors that they suspected that the tumor was a deadly form of cancer. Added to the difficult news was the unanimous agreement that I needed a complex surgery on my brain to remove the tumor immediately. We sought the Lord, felt a “yes and amen” and on August 11, 2015 four days after the diagnosis, I underwent the surgery.

An amazing testimony of the Lord was manifest on that day as the doctors reported wonderful success. ALL of the tumor had been removed and I passed through the surgery with almost none of the negative impairments of which I had been warned.

Today, I want to report that the ongoing story continues to be amazing in every way. I am cancer free and the results of each succeeding MRI have only given evidence of ongoing healing. The One who promised “to make all things new” is using the wisdom and skill of Israeli doctors along with His resurrection power to continue restoring my health in every way.

On the spiritual side, we have also undergone wonderful growth over these past eight months. As we faced this battle between life and death, we understood that ultimately our victory was in Him. We started investing hours every day to listening to healing scriptures and teachings on healing, along with reading many excellent books on healing.

Our faith has grown and the early time of tears and fear has been replaced by limitless hope in Yeshua. And praise God, my brain is cancer free and by the power of His life that lives within me and boundless faith within us, this dreaded work of the enemy shall not return!

We now understand in a greater way that “the same Spirit that raised Messiah from the dead” lives in us. And coupled to this empowering truth is the calling He has given us to go forth and pray for the sick. We still make frequent trips to the hospital for ongoing treatments, but these trips have been transformed from difficult times to journeys of hope. Every time we are in the hospital, the love of God pours out from us onto those who are very sick. We enter into warm and friendly conversations with them, sharing my situation and the reason for the hope that we have and ultimately ask if they would like prayer.

This ongoing wonder has occurred many times and nobody has ever said no! We lay our Spirit filled hands on the sick and in love pray for their healing in Yeshua’s name. And we let them know that once we pray for them in the hospital, we will continue to pray for them every day. We are confident that the fruit of our prayers is affecting many even in ways we cannot know or imagine.

As great as all of this is, it is certainly not the full story of our lives. We are still busy serving as elders and pastors in our congregation, Ahavat Yeshua. We are still devoting our energy to bringing forth young leaders for the next generation and building the foundation in his Body that will endure for the years still ahead.

Our personal testimony is not finished, it is still being written by the hand of God. We are convinced that the best is yet to come! The battle is long and not always easy, but in Him our victory is always, yes and amen.
