For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring;
They will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses.
One will say, ‘I am the Lord’s; another will call himself by the name of Jacob;
another will write with his hand, ‘The Lord’s,’ and name himself by the name of Israel.
Isaiah 44:3-5
The nation of Israel is destined for revival. In His Word, God promises one day to pour out His Spirit on His nation. This is exemplified in Isaiah 44:3-5.
God promises to pour out water on Israel. Israel as a nation needs to be washed in God’s promises for her. This is the time for intercessors to proclaim God’s Word over Israel. The Lord promises to pour out His Spirit on the descendants of Israel. There will be a generation in the Land of Israel that walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
As a result of this outpouring, Israel will be transformed and become fruitful. When the Holy Spirit comes, it will produce a commitment to serve the Lord and Him alone. Idolatry and false worship will cease! What an incredible promise!
This promise is not only for Israel, but every nation! In the last 2000 years, revivals have been taking place in different parts of the world. Almost every Christian has heard about the Azusa Street Revival led by William J. Seymour. Other examples include: Rees Howells, Jonathan Edwards, George Mueller, Charles Finney and Evan Roberts. Their prayers changed nations. The Body of Messiah needs intercessors that will not allow God to rest until He pours out His Spirit on our nations.
The Lord is raising up mighty prayer warriors in our generation. We can trust that just as He raised up mighty prophets like Samuel, Elijah and Elisha, that He will raise up prophets today. Let’s ask the Lord to breathe on us, filling us with the Holy Spirit, and to anoint our prayer meetings so we speak the Word of God with boldness (Acts 4:31).
