He’s the mighty God of Israel

The pandemic has ebbed now somewhat in Israel. Life was pretty quiet the past season compared to other months since 2020.

I remember being in my room and 2 times thinking while alone with our Lord that it was too quiet. I also thought something always happens after so much quiet.

After a few days of thinking that thought my husband and I were at our doctor’s office and had parked our car. We have found appointments are harder to get by phone these days and decided we’d better go in person. While in the office there were so many people in front of us that we even left and went out the door for a pizza and came back. The doctor finally received us and we sat down. She was extremely slow that day. I had never seen her type so slowly. It was almost surreal. Yet what does one do when your primary doctor just takes his or her time? There is nowhere to go. So we waited and waited and waited as she slowly hit the typing keys. Then our mobile phone rang. It was my husband’s brother. The look on hub’s face let me know something was not right. The police had been looking for us and called his brother when they couldn’t reach us. They requested, that we come outside as our car had been hit.

The ambulance was outside, the police, 200 bystanders and all roads were blocked. A man had hit our car and tried to flee. He lost control of his vehicle while fleeing so fast. He hit 3 people including an 8 mo. Old baby. He was driving with a cast on. We say in Hebrew when something was done wrong to us that we were left in the desert. He had not wanted to admit to his hitting us and wanted to “leave us in the desert” so he fled. Then our angels went into action.

A baby was miraculously spared the man hit in a stroller and one other person did in fact go to the hospital. It was all over the news for days. I believe that demonic plan was meant for us, to be hit. I could not sleep the night before and had prayed much when so sleepless, as I knew it was spiritual.

The police were glad we were found and they told us all that happened. There were witnesses who saw the man try and flee. We would have been left with no insurance to pay for our damages (in the desert expression) he caused had he succeeded in his crime. We then waited for the tow truck and by God’s grace it came quickly, truly the first miracle of a few which were to then come.

We filled out the paper work and in the morning received a call from the car company that the car was declared a total loss. We were still in some shock from the trauma of the car being hit. This same car we have used for ministry in every capacity. We have served giving goods to hospitals, books, for the good news, clothes for the poor, rides for the people and much more for the Lord’s purposes. Last year it was paid off. Yet if damages are more than the value of your car in Israel it is written as total loss.

I would not hear of that total loss I was being told to accept. We continued to pray and asked others for prayers too. While attempting to take a picture of the estimate of damage I was told no, it’s not our car anymore! I discerned something very foul in this at that point. I offered to even fix it myself without insurance. Just don’t take my car! They would not hear of it. They wanted my car. It was as theft to me. I felt bullied and unjustly dealt with. The company told us it could never be driven again blah blah blah. Now this car is a huge part of our life and ministry as mentioned. We could not even get to the pharmacy to get our medicine the doctor had so slowly prescribed. We could not get to the supermarket, nowhere. The enemy was like trying to completely cut us off. Yet we and others kept praying, pressing in to the Lord.

Our lawyer had another garage company and a man named Isaac call us. He told us too that often the car companies will say it’s more damage, fix it and sell it, even though they “totaled” it officially on paper. We learned if the price could be lowered for the damages incurred that the state would not declare it a total loss. The damages must be no more than 55% of the value market of the car for it to be legally allowed to be driven by the owner again. We had no idea. BY making the damages more a person is forced to buy a new car. The garage can then fix and sell the car and or sell the parts for much more in the case of our very good solid sturdy car much in demand.

Who would know this? So we explained everything to Isaac, the name of the new destination garage owner where we were to now get a more reasonable and honest estimate. He has the same name as the one the promises of God came through. Now however this was our personal Isaac and promises of God coming through in our own situation needed God’s promises.

Before entering the new garage for fixing it and waiting for the tow truck a funny thing happened. Another car with my husband’s favorite colors was parked just outside. My name was written in big letters. As if God was saying I led you here Miriam. On the other side was written Love you. My husband and I were most moved! Like God was saying I do this for you. I know what you are going through. God made it personal. We needed personal by that point, TLC.

He indeed could fix it for much less. We were able to have hope to keep our car and salvage it after all. The car was not even hit with blows. The radiator was damaged only. They had put some other damages on the dishonest estimate in the previous garage in which those damages did not exist! It was simply the radiator damaged but it seemed the first car company we’d towed it too wanted to sell our parts and unjustly at that. That would be to take our entire ministry vehicle from us. We learned later that day that our car was so desired that they stopped bring it to Israel because they never have to be replaced and last forever (Mitsubishi Grandis). They cannot sell the public new cars if they buy a Grandis. It outlives all cars. We love ours and every other week the orthodox ask if we’ll sell it to them. We just never accepted that phrase total loss about it that week recently.

Off to the rental car we went finally after 3 days of prayer and back and forth trying to get my car back which I am the rightful owner. The rental car we received came with a key which was written “JUDAH” on it! My husband’s family are the Nashdedan tribe of the Kurdish Jews, known also as tribe of Judah. We felt the Lord was so confirming how close He was once again to us. After that we went to the tiny mall on the way home. I saw a shirt which stared at me and printed on it something which is a rare site in Israel (of course I bought it) I know the plans I have for you says the Lord… was written in big letters.

The car will be given back to us. We were spared unjust actions because of the Lord. Yet it made me think of so many who are unjustly dealt with. The Lord is justice, He will bring perfect justice. He knows the names and writes those names on his hand. The elderly without help, he knows the favorite color of the one without hope. He knows the promises to His Jewish people through His Son named Isaac. He brought forth the Messiah from the tribe of Judah who is coming to make justice in all the earth. When someone tells you total loss about anything in this world don’t believe it, fight in the power of His might. When they tell you it’s all good for nothing, push back, because you have the living God dwelling in you. He is very near.

I want to leave you with this hope that He will bring justice.

Isaiah 51:4-5

Listen to me my people, hear me my nation: instruction will go out from me, my justice will become a light to the nations. My righteousness draws near speedily my salvation is on the way. And my arm will bring justice to the nations. The Islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm. Maranatha
