Joint Arabic-Hebrew worship event in Jerusalem

Joint Hebrew-Arabic worship event at the Pavilion, Jerusalem on April 29, 2017.

On April 29, 2017 a joint Hebrew-Arabic worship event took place in the Pavilion, Jerusalem. The event was led by worship leaders and musicians from the Israeli Messianic and Palestinian Christian communities, including Sheli Myers, Yaron Cherniak, Bassem and Jasura Adrenaly. Evan Thomas and Marcel Rebiai provided eldership to the team supported by a group of 19 of Arab and Jewish pastors and leaders. This event is the second worship event done by the same organizers where they hope it will promoted their shared vision of:

  1. Growth and maturity in the Body of the Messiah in Israel
  2. Unity in the local body
  3. Partnership and cooperation between Jewish and Arab believers
  4. Highlight joint prayer and worship within a joint leadership as well

Nearly 500 Messianic Jews and Arab Christians attended the event where they joined in the worship and the spirit of unity. The worship leadership constituted a talented group of musicians and singers from the respective communities. With weeks of preparation together and choice of songs, Scripture-reading and blessings they skillfully gave ‘center-stage’ to Yeshua. The entire event was all about Him.

“The minute the band started worshipping, I felt the presence of God. That shows that the band reached a level of friendship between them that they were supporting one another in their skills. People enjoyed the worship with tears,” said one of the leaders about the event.

Another Jerusalem leader remarked: “This is so powerful!” And another: “You must take this to the Galilee… please!”

During the event, there was an exchange of blessings between the respective communities through songs flowing seamlessly between Arabic and Hebrew, to emphasize that it is God who brings us together in one heart, one baptism and in one spirit.

Later in the program an offering was received that was pre-designated towards local ministries that are currently serving among the neighboring countries as a way of blessing and giving for others more needy than our own communities.

Eitan Kashtan kindly brought several from their youth program to welcome people as they arrived and then help with the receiving of the offering, and Lina Dabbag masterfully provided translation during the event from Hebrew to Arabic and visa versa.

If there is a will for this Godly message of unity to be brought to other parts of the nation, as an encouragement to the local Body of Messiah and as a powerful demonstration to the broader communities, the team would be more than willing to serve!

“Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.”
