Potential for the outbreak of war on Israel’s northern border is a major prayer point for Israel as a nation. A drone from of an Iranian base in central Syria violated Israeli airspace entering from Jordan before an Israeli attack helicopter downed it just south of the Sea of Galilee. Retaliating for the intrusion, Israel launched attack on 12 significant Iranian military sites in Syria. The Israeli Air Force took intense anti-aircraft fire from Syria and an F-16 jet became the first downed Israeli jet since 1982.
This incident has dramatically heated up war talk from Iran, Syria, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Hamas in Gaza. Israeli newspapers are reporting that the “cold war” between Israel and Iran has now come out into the open – especially through Iran’s proxies, Hezbollah and Iran-backed Shiite militias in Syria. Please pray for wisdom on the part of all Israeli leaders, governmental and military. Pray for a de-escalation of tensions so that open warfare does not begin to manifest at the northern borders and from within Israel from terror groups.
Many believers live in the northern border region and also many believer families from all over Israel have sons and daughters currently serving in the IDF military. Please pray for angelic protection of all Israel and for the Christian believers in surrounding hostile nations. (Psalm 91:11-12 For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. And Luke 4:10)

Within the Israeli Messianic ministries there is a deep understanding that God wants to save many from Israel’s neighbor countries who are not only hostile to Israel, but also to their own people. Israeli Messianic ministries support Arab evangelism and outreach, for instance. Please pray for all these efforts to bear much fruit and for a great move of God throughout the region from Egypt to Iran – including in Israel! Isaiah 19:23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.
As Islam has become like the Black Plague descending on the nations of the world, so anti-Semitism continues to grow in all the nations it has taken root. This has caused violence against Jews in many nations to be soft-peddled and there is also soft-peddling of the Holocaust emerging too. A proposed law in Poland would try to erase Poland’s own part in that horrible period. Re-writing history helps no one and especially does not help Israel or the Jewish people. Please pray for voices in these nations to rise up and oppose all acts of anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial. Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
As people who pray and intercede for Israel and the Israeli Messianic community of faith in Yeshua, we often come under our own intense personal battles. This is a situation not unlike the rebuilding of the wall in Nehemiah’s time where the environment was so thick with opposition that they held building tools in one hand and a weapon in the other. (Nehemiah 4:16-18) Let us encourage ourselves that even when the enemy comes in life a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall life up a standard against the enemy. Isaiah 59:19
