Prayer for Israel News
Concerns of impending war remain high in Israel and not just on Israel’s northern border, but also in a serious escalation of violence out of Gaza. In a meeting of the UN Security Council, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley told that body it was a “wake up call” to improve the situation on the ground and avoid the outbreak of another war in the region. Israelis, of course, are already awake and know war will break out against them at some point, but the community of faith also knows that God has given us power and authority in the name of Yeshua that is far beyond the enemy forces.
Please pray with us for the spiritual powers that are driving the terrorists in Gaza and the warring factions on Israel’s northern border towards an untimely outbreak of war to be silenced and drawn back. (2 Corinthians 10:4, 2 Chronicles 20:15). Pray with us for the humanitarian storehouses and outreaches within the Messianic community of faith to be made full with abundant provision for any emergency need. (Acts 11:27-30). Pray also for all those in authority in Israel, for wisdom and God’s leading in the way they should go (even those as yet unsaved: “The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes.” (Proverbs 21:1) Valor and protection over all the believers serving in the IDF, and indeed over all those serving.
Politically, Prime Minister Netanyahu enjoys great support among the Evangelically Christian community, especially in America, but in Israel, increasingly the community of faith is considering that it might be time for new leadership. As Netanyahu faces corruption charges – which no one knows if factual or not – many in the community of Messianic believers are considering the undue influence that the ultra-Orthodox hold in Netanyahu’s government, which results in persecution against the believers. The whole community of faith desires that justice and truth will prevail in the Israeli government, so this is our first prayer request. (Amos 5:24 “…let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”). Regardless of what happens in the Israeli government going forward, pray that the Prime Ministers will be able to continue to lead Israel through the intensely dangerous time. It is a horrible time to be under a political attack – when Israel is facing its war-like enemies. Pray for the LORD to be LORD over all these situations for the good of all Israel.
Prayer for Community News
Please pray for newly launched Israel Fellowship of Artists that is drawing together Israeli believing psalmists, worship leaders and musicians from all over Israel to encourage each other spiritually and artistically and to have a place that can help take their worship to a new level. These are the worshipers who are leading Israeli congregations into the presence of God and who are producing the worship music in Hebrew native to Israel. One reason we are asking for prayer for this new group is because of the isolation of so many of these musicians. It is exactly the same as it is for believer school children in Israel where they might be the only believer in the whole school. Fellowship with others of like-minded faith is so essential. Please pray for this fellowship to grow and all the worshipers of Israel to be blessed by it.
We often feature the testimony videos produced by One for Israel in a similar format to the groundbreaking “I am Second” testimony videos. The I Met Messiah videos are making a powerful impact in making the Messianic faith known among churches worldwide and sharing the faith of Yeshua with the Jewish people. KNI features many of these videos and asks for prayers for the series which features both believing Jews and Arabs. One recent testimony video of a former Muslim woman has over 2 million social media views! Pray for God to use this social media tool to increase awareness in the international church about what God is doing in Israel, but also to reach Jews and Arabs with the gospel in the privacy of their own homes. (Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”)
Purim is upcoming on February 27, lots of fun and revelry for families in the streets all over Israel and the Messianic congregational families are no exception. Pray for the many outreaches that will be put on by the congregations in Israel to reach their neighbors and also for all those who will be meeting for intercessory prayer. While Purim is a festive holiday, the core of it is about the threat to wipe out the Jewish people as told in the story of Esther, a prophetic book about God’s protection of the Jewish people. Many times through history, the Jewish people have been subject to threats of slaughter even to this day. But God’s plan is not for Israel’s destruction but to give Israel a hope and a future. Pray with us over the festivities and the threats in the name of Yeshua. Prayer Request: During this time we also ask that you read the book of Esther asking the LORD to show you things you have not seen before in the prophetic book about Israel and the intercession on behalf of the Jewish people.
