Prayer for Israeli Messianic Community News
Many have wondered whether the passing of Billy Graham, at the age of 99 years old, is an indication that days of great spiritual harvest lie just ahead of us. Billy Graham, an evangelist that God used all over the world represents the passing of one generation of godliness and spiritual harvest into the next. We do not know exactly what the passing of His good and faithful servant, Billy Graham signifies, but we pray for the spiritual Joshua generation that follows – in Israel and throughout the world.
Among the Israel-loving worldwide church, when most think of “ministry” the main focus is on “evangelistic ministry.” In Israel, “evangelism” often takes place through online media in the form video, radio and websites like KNI, and by personal one-on-one witness. The best testimony of Yeshua comes by way of friends, family and people in the community whose lives have been made whole by Yeshua in their lives. Many congregations and specialized ministry groups are working with broken people who have come to faith in Yeshua, to strengthen them in God’s Word, and to pour the “balm of Giliad” on their wounds. Such examples are the the pro-life ministry of Be’ad Chaim, the Anchor of Hope Counseling Center , a ministry to addicts, and a ministry preparing young believers about to enter their IDF service. All of these ministries strengthen the witness of the faith in Yeshua in Israel and each are important in the eyes of God. Please pray for the believers in Israel and for all those who are ministering to the “household of faith” (Galatians 6:10) and for those who are proclaiming the Gospel. This article, When One Member Suffers, is a great encouragement to pray from 1 Corinthians 12:20-25.
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty (12:21-23)
Prayer for Israel
Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu who is currently in Washington, D.C. meeting with President Trump.
Pray for truth to be revealed in regards to the multiple police investigations surrounding Prime Minister Netanyahu. He and his wife Sara were questions by the police “under caution” last Friday at the same time, in separate locations.
Pray for the Knesset members who attended the first Knesset-hosted Bible study between Jews and Christian that the Knesset members would Israeli Messianic Jews as friends in addition to international Christians.
Pray for truth in the secular media and against clear bias by “dubious sources”. A couple of examples this week is in the bias about the proposed peace plan that President Trump will put forward as reported by the London-based Arabic-language daily Asharq al-Awsat. In another story, the U.S. Anti-Defamation League (ADL) put out a survey indicating a 60% rise in anti-semitic incidents in the U.S. and biasly blamed the America’s political Right as the reason for rising US anti-semitism. The ADL completely ignored the real source fueling hatred for Jews and Israel. Please pray that we all be watchful for dubious sources, so that it may not be said of us:
“For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.” (Luke 16:18)
