Let’s Try to be More Positive and More Optimistic

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable; if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things. – Philipians 4:8  

The situation in Israel and the nations continues to give cause for serious concern in the areas of health, politics, economics and Biblical morality. We continue to be bombarded in the media and on the internet with cleverly written blogs, and professionally produced video presentations expounding extreme views by people claiming to be highly qualified in the subject. I still can’t figure our how highly trained people can have such extreme views.

Ten months after the Covid-19 virus broke out and 3 months after the US election, Josie and I are tired of receiving emails and social media posts concerning both issues, many of which are clearly not true. What really concerns me is that most of the people who send this sort of material out, many of them Christians, only focus on the negative, and they do not send out information from a positive perspective. Sure I do include bad news in my Carmel Alert, but it I do my best to be sure it is factual, and it is primarily for the purpose of prayer. And I do my best to include at least one ‘good news’ item each week. Sadly, in today’s world it is not that easy to find good news.

As bad as most of the news is these days, the positive take on the deteriorating situation in the nations is that we can clearly see that we are getting very close to the return of Yeshua, and to the re-establishment of GOD’s Kingdom on the Earth in Jerusalem. As believers in Messiah Yeshua and having a preview of how wonderful the Kingdom of YHVH will be… as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)  We have the only solution to the bad news and the fear that is growing, both outside and inside the Body of Messiah.

By all means we Believers need to shine the light and continue to alert others to the truth as to what is really going in the world today, and what is going on behind the scenes. Focusing on the negative can create fear in others and even in ourselves if we dwell on it too long, so we need to do our best to increase people’s faith and not to induce fear, by also looking at every situation from a positive Kingdom perspective. Even though it may not be apparent, but the LORD is in every issue and He has not lost control.

Here are some Biblical truths that will build us up and empower us to encourage others if we hold on to them and never let go…

The GOD we believe in, worship and serve is the Creator of the entire Universe and everyone and everything that exists is under His control.
The battle belongs to the LORD and we worship and serve is the GOD who prevails – He has already defeated the enemy by the Blood of Yeshua.
The GOD we believe in, worship and serve is a God of unlimited love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.

We need to have the mind of Messiah instead of a spirit of fear.
We need to increase our time in the Word which renews our mind and builds up our faith.
We need to be constantly asking for the Holy Spirit to fill us, comfort us, guide us and empower us to be His witnesses to the multitudes of lost people all around us.
We need to proclaim positive Bible verses over ourselves, our family and friends, over our cities and nations, and over all that the LORD lays on our hearts.

I will leave it that for this week with the hope and prayer that you are now feeling more positive and optimistic.
