Guest speaker Sandy Shoshani speaks on the women who have made a difference in history. What makes us somebody is the Holy Spirit in our heart, as we look at Mary we see humility and willingness to obey. Will we let God use us with humility? The Luke account is organised and give eye witness accounts and facts so we may know the truth of the words. These are real people with real hearts, desires and passions.
The story is in the context of the pregnancy of Elizabeth who was called the barren one. She secluded herself for five months, holding it very deep and personal, as a secret in her heart. He wants to show us his deepest love in a deep and personal way. God does send his angels to us as he did with Mary. She ponders what he said to her. “You have found favour with God.” God has a different economy; He takes the simplest of all and chooses them. Humility is the key, an empty vessel. Mary said, God told me, I’m His and I believe it. The Glory of God is seen in the simple things. What do I do Lord to fulfil your purposes for me? “Hineni, here I am Lord.”
