Longings

A satisfying pleasure everyone enjoys is drink —
grape juice, coffee, milk, even water from the sink.

If every known beverage is there when you ask,
we choose that which pleased us from the past.

At the Last Supper sharing His own cup of wine,
Yeshua said, I’ll not drink again the fruit of the vine
until an event now almost 2000 years have past.
So what occurrence will end this self-imposed fast?

Yeshua desires to save this delight to share with us
who have made Him our Lord and His Word we trust.
In the heavenly Jerusalem at the marriage feast we’ll eat
and drink together with Him — our final longings then complete.
