Multitudes in the Valley of Decision

I asked the L-rd for His perspective on the apparent stalemate in our recent Israeli elections, and I heard, “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!” הֲמֹונִים הֲמֹונִים בְּעֵמֶק הֶֽחָרוּץ from Joel 3:14

So as usual I did a word study and found some unusual options for translating this verse:

Multitudes = הֲמֹונִים

  1. murmur, roar, crowd
  2. sound, murmur, rush
  3. tumult, confusion
  4. multitude, abundance
  5. wealth

Decision חָרוּץ

  1. sharp-pointed, a threshing sledge
  2. diligent, decision
  3. trench, moat, ditch
  4. gold

For those of you who are praying for Israel at this time, I would urge you to pray especially for unconfused, clear decisions in the Spirit.
Allow me to explain – in Jewish tradition many rabbis believe and teach that on Yom Teruah, Rosh HaShanah, a huge book in heaven is opened and G-d writes the names of the righteous in this book. During the 10 Days of Awe until Yom Kippur, when this book is closed, we greet one another with “Chatima tova” – May you be inscribed! The problem is we have no idea whether we made it into this book or not and year after year growing up with this custom, I remember wondering if I was successful or not.

Many years ago while attending a Messianic conference, someone asked those of us who were Jewish believers what season we came to faith in Yeshua. Almost everyone responded that we found our Messiah, or rather He found us during the 10 Days of Awe!

Of course the formation of a coalition government in Israel is needed, but my main prayer focus will be on the multitude of Jewish souls standing before the threshing sledge this season to make a golden decision to follow Yeshua the Messiah!
