Not Peace, But a Sword

“I tell you, sell your cloak and buy a sword.”

To the astonishment of many, Yeshua said, “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.’’ A sword is not intended only to peel oranges. A sword is a divider, for God is a divider. He first divided light from darkness, heaven from earth, time from eternity, Shabbat from the six days of creation, clean from unclean, holiness from sin, sheep from goats, and Israel from the nations.

And He also said to them, “But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one.’’ Also not for peeling oranges. ‘The sword of the spirit is the word of God ’- and today that Sword is dividing the world, including the churches. The churches are being cut asunder- those that are returning to the Word of God and to Jerusalem from whence it went forth, from those who are deleting that Word and returning to Babylon, Rome, Egypt and Sodom. And in the eye of the storm is Israel, where the Jewish people have returned after a two millennium hiatus, as written in all of the Prophets. This phenomenon is a plumb line dividing the many, those churches who claim that the church has now replaced Israel, and the return of the Jews is a mere unfortunate political accident, from those who see it as the hand of God in fulfilling His prophetic word and promise.

And in the political realm there are those many forces and nations who would now divide the Land of Israel for the sake of ‘’peace.’’ But here is what YHVH says regarding that very proposition, “In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat*. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My people, My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and they divided My land’’ (Joel 3). Yeshua also said, “What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

“He held in His right hand seven stars, and a sharp double-edged sword came from His mouth… And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations.” – Revelation1:16
