Since you have become partakers of Israel’s spiritual blessings, it is your duty to minister to Israel in material ways. -Romans 15:27
I used to think that Romans 11:17 and Ephesians 2:11 – 19 were the most overlooked or misunderstood verses in the New Testament. As I travel the nations it is obvious to me that the majority of Christians have little or no revelation of their grafted in relationship to Israel and the Jewish people. In my opinion it is one of the most important New Testament verses, and the way we live out our life with the LORD depends upon having the correct understanding of that relationship – based on Romans 11:17 and Ephesians 2:11 – 19. However, I now see that the above verse from Romans 15 is even more overlooked or ignored. I was recently reminded of this and inspired to write this comment by an article that appeared in the ICEJ magazine 2 months ago. The article, which pulled no punches, was written by a Christian minister who has had a revelation of Romans 15:27, and he wrote exactly what I am saying, so what I am writing today is not the case of a Jewish person pushing his own cart.
For many years now I have been aware of the financial needs of the Believers in Israel, and I had a vision that every Church in the world would tithe to the Body of Messiah in Israel. My main reason being that I believe that the Second Coming of Yeshua and the restoration of the Kingdom of YHVH on the Earth will be hastened as Israel is built up and restored. (Acts 3:21) And I believe from what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 15:27, he also believed that. Please note that Paul did not say that it was his suggestion or a good idea – he said that it was the DUTY of those who have become partakers of spiritual blessings because of the Jewish people, to minister back to Israel in material ways. DUTY is a very strong word and yet very few Churches or individual Christians obey that instruction.
Praise God there are some pastors and believers out there who have had a revelation of Romans 15:27, but unfortunately they are the minority – just a remnant. As I said above, my vision is that every Church and every believer would begin to financially bless Israel in some way, which will hasten the day of Yeshua’s return to reign and rule over the Kingdom of God from Jerusalem. Now I know that is not very likely to happen any time soon, but I am allowed to dream, and with GOD nothing is impossible – AMEN ?
In closing, to the people who do regularly financially an Israeli Messianic ministry, thank you and may The LORD bless you as you bless Israel. And to those who don’t as yet bless a Messianic ministry, please read Romans 15:27 in your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you should do about that.
