When I think of the Palestinian Terrorist Marwan Barghouti, the first word that comes to mind is hypocrite—even before terrorist or murderer—certainly before Nobel laureate. While serving five life sentences, he was caught eating during a hunger strike of Palestinian prisoners. He is considered the leader of imprisoned Palestinians and, not surprisingly, he was one of the parties calling for the hunger strike.
…while his fellow prisoners were refraining from food, Marwan Barghouti…was caught on camera feeding his face. First he covered the door and window of his cell—so as not to be seen—then he washed his hands and pigged out. According to Prison Services spokesman Ofer Lefler, Barghouti asked wardens for the food and ate without knowing that a camera was filming from a small hole in the wall. Israel wanted to catch him, to show fasting prisoners how their leader was behaving, Lefler said. “I want to show the world and the Palestinians that we are dealing with terrorists,” Lefler continued, “Barghouti is sitting on a pot of meat and he sends his friends to die.” (SOURCE)
Barghouti is in jail for organizing several terrorist attacks, mostly against civilians. However, now the Palestinian Authority, who seeks to portray themselves not as bloodthirsty terrorists, but as oppressed freedom fighters, wants Barghouti to receive a Nobel Peace Prize.

The nomination of Barghouti for the prize means support for the just rights of the Palestinian people in its struggle for freedom and independence, and support for the prisoners’ cause, as well as their legitimate struggle for freedom and honor, as prisoners of freedom who sacrificed and fought for their land and in order to end the injustice the occupation is causing to our people.
Of course, the million dollar award that the Nobel folks give out, is nothing compared to the millions in aid he could syphon off from the Palestinian people if he ever achieve his goal of replacing Mahmoud Abbas. Like Abbas, who is worth $100,000,000 and Arafat before him, the only freedom fighter billionaire, he will be set if only he can get out of jail.
Of course, the real motive behind the nomination is to seek recognition from the International community to kill Israelis, according to palwatch.org. They want to present Barghouti not as a killer of women and children, like ISIS, but rather someone fighting for justice like Gandhi. He is not a cold-blooded killer, but more like Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban for fighting for the rights of girls to be educated.
This was the advice given to the PLO in the 1960s from the communist Vietnamese.
