Ramallah native Sandra Solomon “grew up in a home that hated Jews, hailed Hitler and praised the Holocaust,” according to a Times of Israel story published in 2016. Sadly, Solomon’s bitterly anti-Semitic background is not what makes her unique.
The niece of Saher Habash, a founder of the Fatah party, Solomon was born a Muslim in Ramallah under a different name and was reared in Saudi Arabia before moving to Canada where she eventually broke free from Muslim orthodoxy and converted to Christianity.
Solomon, age 38, now wears a Star of David pendant around her neck and has become an advocate for Israel, hopeful that the Jewish people will someday forgive her for the insults and demonization of Jews that originated in her home and surroundings while growing up.
Her family has denounced her for having abandoned the Muslim faith, a process, according to Solomon, that did not happen overnight.
“The hijab is the main reason I left Islam,” she told Israel’s Channel 2 News in another interview, “…and also because of the way of life under Islamic Sharia law.”
But, during her time in Canada, Solomon began to read what she calls the Jewish Bible.
“I realized that, a long time before Muhammad and Islam, Jews lived in the area,” she said in a recent story by Elior Levy at ynetnews.com. “The power of truth changed me.”
Since her conversion, Solomon has been active in vocal and often dangerous support of Israel. She opposes the continuing terror attacks carried out by Palestinians against Israelis while citing “violent education” as a principle cause of its incitement. In the video below, she describes the Palestinian refugee camp, Am’ari, located east of Ramallah in al-Bireh municipality as “a factory for jihadists and terror.”

Interestingly, UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, on its web page dedicated to the Ama’ri camp, makes no mention of political graft, terrorism and pro-jihadist education throughout the territory governed by the Palestinian Authority, citing among other things as principle causes for Camp Ama’ri’s squalor, the construction of the “West Bank Barrier” and a decrease in Israeli work permits issued to camp residents.
According to Gates of Vienna.net, Sandra Solomon now lives under a death fatwa from Canadian imams who have called for her to be killed for her apostasy.
“I stand behind what I say,” Solomon said, “and I will tell the truth even if it leads to my death one day. I will at least know that I’ve had the honor to die for the truth.”
While Solomon continues to speak out against Palestinian violence against Israel, her “dream, one day, is to come to Israel, to fly the [Israeli] flag and salute it.”
“The State of Israel was created not to be erased but to stay,” she said.
