Spotlight on Iran in a Time of Great Shakings of Nations

On September 16th, 2019, I was shown in a vision a lightning strike shaking a demonic throne over Iran. This vision was confirmed by a rare lightning storm when we proclaimed it from Succat Hallel during Sukkot on October 14th, 2019.

I believe the great shakings are happening in Iran, and we need to pray for a great emergence of the unshakable Kingdom of God in Iran during this season.

  1. An unprecedented number of important clerics and government officials have died from the coronavirus.
  2. It has been exposed that the government has tried to cover up the magnitude of a huge plague of locusts in Southern Iran since mid-February.
  3. Three large earthquakes occurred in a two-day period in Iran.
  4. Iran has experienced a great setback in their efforts to promote terrorism in other parts of the Middle East.

I have recorded a video of some ways to pray during this time of great shakings in Iran:

A key Scripture to pray for Iran (which I explain in detail in the video above):

“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘See, I will break the bow of Elam [Elam was a province of Persia, which is now in Iran], the mainstay of their might. I will bring against Elam the four winds from the four quarters of heaven; I will scatter them to the four winds, and there will not be a nation where Elam’s exiles do not go. I will shatter Elam before their foes, before those who want to kill them; I will bring disaster on them, even my fierce anger,’ declares the Lord. ‘I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them. I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials,’ declares the Lord. ‘Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam in days to come,’ declares the Lord.” – Jeremiah 49:35-39 [NIV]

Please join us in proclaiming the Throne of the Lord over Iran in the midst of these shakings.

This is Rick Ridings, coming to you from Jerusalem, and I wanted to share an update in the shakings that God is doing in the nations, and I feel He particularly wants us to focus prayer in a special way upon the shakings going on in Iran, at this time.

Here in Israel, we’ve just celebrated Purim, which, of course, is a story of Iran, ancient Persia is the modern Iran. And it seems like something is happening very strongly in Iran in terms of the shakings of God, the visions that the Lord gave me that I’ve shared, of great shakings in Hong Kong and then China, and then, South Korea, and now, it seems that the epicenter, in many ways, has moved to Iran, although not exclusively.

But I feel God is spotlighting Iran in a special way at this time. And in Scriptures, He says, “I will shake all things that can be shaken, so that that which cannot be shaken will remain.” In another Scripture, He says that, “In the time of shakings, I will shake not only the Earth, but also the heavens.”

And some of you will remember, last September, October, the vision the Lord gave me of a lightning bolt going out toward Iran from the Lord’s presence. And that it began to shake a demonic throne over Iran, over Russia, over Turkey.

But I specifically want to focus right now on Iran. I believe God has sent His lightning bolts. I believe He’s allowing great shakings in Iran.

Not only was there the successful taking-out of a major general that was bringing, behind most of the terror, Iranian-sponsored terrorism and violence here, and other parts of the Middle East, but through the coronavirus, now, we’ve heard reports of many high Iranian officials who have even died from this virus.

At the same time, there are news reports of a great, huge locust plague that has invaded southern Iran. And then, around that time, there was the report of a fairly major earthquake in Iran.

So it’s almost like ancient Egypt, where there was plague after plague. Where there was one action after another, to confront a Pharaoh who refused to allow the people to go and worship the Lord.

He did not want to allow the Jewish people to go and worship God. And so, through all of these shakings, I believe God is wanting us to pray in Iran, which has the fastest growing church in the world, to pray protection over the believers in Iran, that just as in the story of Pharaoh and Egypt, the Iranians would be like Goshen, where the Israelites lived.

They put the blood of the lamb over the doorpost of their home, and they were protected from the Angel of Death, They were protected from the plagues, from the shakings that were shaking the ancient gods of Egypt, and revealing that the God of Israel is the God far above all the gods of Egypt.

And so, let’s pray for Iran, for the Iranian believers to be protected even as the Hebrews were protected in Goshen. By the blood of Jesus, by the blood of the Lamb, to be over all of them.

May that be a miraculous witness to their neighbors, as they see the Lord healing and protecting the Christians in the middle of this outbreak of coronavirus. As our dear friends in Wuhan, China overcame the tremendous fear that came against them, and began to boldly pray for people in Wuhan to be healed, and saw healing, as they took communion in their homes and were protected and other members of their family began to come to Jesus.

We pray for our dear Iranian brothers and sisters. That your families, that other people will come into the kingdom of God, as they see that you are not shaken in the midst of these shakings.

And then, let’s also pray through this, that whatever God is doing and dealing with this Pharaoh-like spirit, in the rulership of Iran, will be dealt with. That something major will begin to shift in that nation, even as Pharaoh finally realized he needed to let the people of Israel to go to worship their God.

I’d like to close with a very key Scripture, very well-known among Iranian believers. But others may not be aware of this.

In Jeremiah 49:35-39, Jeremiah gives a prophetic word of the Lord to Elam. Elam was a province of ancient Persia, and it was very, very key to ancient Persia, and I believe is a picture of Iran at this time.

I believe these Scriptures can be applied very much to Iran.

“This is what the Lord Almighty says. ‘See, I will break the bow of Elam, the mainstay of their might.’”

In other words, they thought, through their great military power, they were invincible, but God began to show them that they were not sovereign and almighty. Only Almighty God is sovereign. He says:

“I will bring against Elam the four winds, from the four corners of heaven.”

It’s interesting that the winds brought in this plague of locusts into Iran. Then, He says:

“I will scatter them to the four winds,”

speaking of the people of Elam.

“There will not be a nation where Elam’s exiles do not go.”

Already, through what has happened in the last decades, there are Iranians that have been scattered in many, many different nations of the world. Then, He says:

“I will shatter Elam before their foes. Before those who want to kill them, I will bring disaster on them, even my fierce anger, declares the Lord. I will pursue them with the sword until I’ve made an end of them.”

Here, I think He’s speaking especially of evil rulers who harden their heart in the way that Pharaoh hardened his heart. I believe even evil rulers God gives an opportunity to repent, but if they do not repent, and acknowledge the true and the living God, then God will make an end of them, even as He did with Pharaoh.

But then, there’s an amazing, wonderful promise for Elam, that I believe is for all of Iran today. He says:

“‘I will set up my throne in Elam, and I will destroy her king and officials,’ declares the Lord, ‘yet, I will restore the fortunes of Elam in the days to come,’ declares the Lord.”

So this is the only place in the world where God speaks of setting up a throne other than here in Jerusalem. He speaks of setting some kind of a throne in Elam, in Persia.

So it’s interesting that there’s been this spiritual battle through the ages. Since the time of Esther and Mordecai and Haman, which we just celebrated, Purim, here in Israel.

There’s been this tremendous spiritual struggle of the prince of, the spirit of, the prince of Persia. But God sent His angel, Michael, the angel of Israel, who would, [who] defeated him in that particular time, and will defeat him again.

And so, God’s heart and desire is for the people of Iran to be set free from this evil, Pharaoh-type spirit, that they may worship the Lord. And so, we pray blessings upon the people of Iran from Jerusalem.

And we encourage those in the nations listening to this, to pray for the people of Iran, and pray for the emerging of the kingdom of God in much greater measure. Through the shakings that are happening at this moment in Iran.
