God choose two places in Jerusalem where His Eternal blessing would rest, two places where He blessed Abram for all of mankind.
This first location where God blessed Abram and his Seed with an Eternal blessing is found in Genesis 14:18. It was (a Valley) a place which went down to the Valley of Shaveh, the King’s Valley.
Genesis 14:17 The king of Sodom went out to meet him (Abram) at the Valley of Shaveh, the King’s Valley, after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him. Then Melchizedek, King of Salem (Peace), brought out bread and wine; He was the Priest of God Most High. And He blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he (Abram) gave Him a tithe of all. Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’”
On his way coming from the north to the King’s Valley, Abram had first met a Man, Melchi Zedek (my King of Righteousness), the Priest of God Most High, and King of Salem. This Man blessed Abram and his Seed with a Heavenly blessing.
I believe, as this paper will show, that the place where Abram met Melchi Zedek is the ben Hinnom Valley, which runs down to the Kidron Valley, the Valley of kings where many Jewish kings have their tombs. Was this also the King’s Valley in Abram’s day?
The next time God gave Abraham a special blessing was in another location (on one of the mountains in the land of Moriah) where God again blessed Abram and his son Isaac (‘laughter’), and Abram’s Seed in Isaac. That second place was where God spared Isaac’s life from being an offering to God with a ram caught in the thicket by both its horns, so the nation of Israel could then be created. That special place where God provided would also later become the place in Jerusalem where God would place His name, in the House of God on Mt Zion hill, prophesied in Genesis 22:14.
Genesis 22:1 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 22:2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” 22:7 But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 22:8 And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together. 22:9 Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. 22:10 And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 22:11 But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.” 22:12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” 22:13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 22:14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The LORD will provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.” 22:15 Then the Angel of the LORD (Yeshua) called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, 22:16 “By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son, 22:17 in blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. 22:18 In your Seed (Yeshua) all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
That mountain location where God had blessed Abraham and Isaac and his Seed would later become the Temple area on Mount Zion hill in Jerusalem, where Solomon built the House of God.
The History of the ben Hinnom Valley
Joshua 15:8 And the border went up by the Valley of the Son of Hinnom to the southern slope of the Jebusite city (which is Jerusalem). The border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the Valley of Rephaim northward. Joshua 18:16 Then the border came down to the end of the mountain that lies before the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is in the Valley of the Rephaim on the north, descended to the Valley of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite city on the south, and descended to En Rogel.
King David had brought the Ark of the Covenant down through the ben Hinnom Valley on the way to its first resting place in a Tent in the Kidron Valley next to the Gihon spring in the city of David. There it remained for 33 years of David’s life, and then 8 more years, until Solomon placed the Ark of the Covenant into the House of God which he built on Mount Zion hill. 1st Kings 1:33-41; 2nd Samuel 6:1-19; 1st Chronicles 13:3-14; 15:15, 25-29; 16:1-4;
Then King David did something foolish against God by counting all the people of Israel. This brought a plague from God against the people of Israel. That plague was stopped by God in Jerusalem
at the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. That is the location which God later told king David would be where the House of God would be built by David’s son, king Solomon. 1st Kings 6:1, 38; 8:1-6; 1st Chronicle s 21:1, 12-30 [Ornan]; 2nd Chronicles 3:1; 5:2-7; 2nd Samuel 24:1, 14-25 [Araunah];
Now we see God’s biblical pattern: first the Tent in the Valley, with the Ark of the Covenant of God (the Presence of God) placed inside it, and then the House of God on Mount Zion hill, with the Ark of the Covenant of God (the Presence of God) placed inside it.
The devil also knew those two places where God blessed Abram and his Seed, and he brought great corruption to both those places, (1) God’s House on Mount Zion hill & (2) the ben Hinnom Valley.
Jeremiah 7:30-34; 7:30 “For the children of Judah have done evil in My sight,” says the LORD. (1) “They have set their abominations in the House which is called by My name, to pollute it. 7:31 (2) And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart. 7:32 Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “when it will no more be called Tophet, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter; for they will bury in Tophet until there is no room. 7:33 The corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth. And no one will frighten them away. 7:34 Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. For the land shall be desolate.”
Jeremiah 19:2-13; 19:2 “And go out to the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the Potsherd Gate; and proclaim there the words that I will tell you, 19:3 and say, ‘Hear the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring such a catastrophe on this place, that whoever hears of it, his ears will tingle. 19:4 Because they have forsaken Me and made this an alien place, because they have burned incense in it to other gods whom neither they, their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, and have filled this place with the blood of the innocents 19:5 they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command or speak, nor did it come into My mind, 19:6 therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that this place shall no more be called Tophet or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.”’”
Jeremiah 31:40 “And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes (the ben Hinnom Valley), and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the LORD! It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.”
Here God prophesied that the ben Hinnom Valley, which God had cursed would some day become the place holy to the LORD, the place of Eternal Blessings. God also made sure to place this prophesy as the last verse in the Jeremiah 31 chapter, where after He told the House of Israel and the House of Judah that He would be making a New Eternal Covenant with them, Jeremiah 31:31-34. He also gave them the location where this New Covenant would be fulfilled, in the Valley of dead bodies and ashes, the Valley of the son of hell, located at the western base of Mount Zion hill.
God prophesied He would take the worst place and the most cursed place in all of Israel, and make it into a most blessed place. For this Valley was the place where the Son of God, Melchi Zedek originally blessed Abram (and his Seed), with a Blessing from the Priest of God Most High for the peoples of all the nations on earth.
Jeremiah 32:34-42 (1) But they set their abominations in the House which is called by My name, to defile it. 32:35 (2) And they built the high places of Baal which are in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.’ 32:36 “Now therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, ‘It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by the famine, by the pestilence: 32:37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this Place, and I will cause them to dwell safely. 32:38 They shall be My people, and I will be their God; 32:39 then I will give them one heart and one Way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. 32:40 And I will make an Everlasting Covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them Good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. 32:41 Yes, I will Rejoice over them to do them Good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’ 32:42 “For thus says the LORD: ‘Just as I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will bring on them all the Good that I have promised them.’ ”
God prophesied that there would be a place where He would make an Eternal Covenant with the House of Israel and House of Judah, where He would give them one heart and one Way to be able to walk with God forever. A place where they will be ‘born again’ into God! That place is the ben Hinnom Valley!
Isaiah 16:5 “In Mercy the Throne will be established; and One will sit on it in Truth, in the Tabernacle (Ohel) of David, Judging, and seeking Justice, and hastening Righteousness!”
Yeshua is sitting in Heaven, reigning as King over the whole earth within the Tabernacle (Ohel) of David, absolutely in charge of all the earth, directing everything on earth towards His soon coming. But first He will have His finest Hour on earth, bringing in the world’s Greatest End Time Revival and the Greatest Harvest of souls that man will ever see!
Psalm 2:6, “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion!”
Ezekiel 34:26 “I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of Blessing.”
Amos 9:11 “On that day I will raise up the Tabernacle (Succah) of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; 9:12 that they may possess the remnant of Adam (mankind), and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” says the LORD who does this thing. 9:13 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “when the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it. 9:14 I will bring back the captives of My people Israel. They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. 9:15 I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,” says the LORD your God.
One of the main purposes that God has raised up this End Time Restored Tabernacle of David is that it will be the catalyst that will cause the world’s greatest End Time Revival and Harvest of souls (Amos 9:13) which Revival and Harvest of souls will be greater than anything we could ever imagine.
The ben Hinnom Valley is located at the southwestern base of Mount Zion hill, with Mount Zion hotel just above it. This Valley runs downhill for about 1/2 a mile to the Kidron Valley. Yeshua will build His House on the top of this Mount Zion hill.
The ben Hinnom Valley also happens to be the Center Tent position of the whole world wide Restored Tabernacle of David!
Just imagine what it might be like if God decides to pour out His Spirit at that Center position with the fulfillment of His blessings from all the combined prayers that have gone up to Him from the world wide restored Tabernacle of David. What would that be like? It would be absolutely incredible, greater than any thing anyone could ever imagine. And that Great Outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit is exactly what is coming soon!
I believe the ben Hinnom Valley is also the mystery Valley of dry bones of Ezekiel 37:1-14, the place that will soon come alive with the great Outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit in the coming Revival. God said that this will be the Place where the whole House of Israel will be ‘born again’ by God, and come into God’s Everlasting Covenant of Eternal Life. As God originally blessed Abram with a Blessing for him and His Seed so long ago in this Valley, so this will be the place for the fulfillment of that original blessing. And it will happen once again before Yeshua returns and sets up His Kingdom from His House on the top of Mount Zion hill. That is also why Yeshua, as the Angel of the LORD, had first blessed Abraham and Isaac, and Abram’s Seed then in Isaac so long ago from on top of that mountain in the land of Moriah, in Genesis 22. Yeshua was so happy with Abraham who had not withheld his son from God, his only son whom he loved, that Yeshua had spoken, “In blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore … And in your Seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the Valley; and it was full of bones. 37:2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 37:3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.” 37:4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the Word of the LORD! 37:5 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 37:6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.” ’ ” 37:7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 37:8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. 37:9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’” 37:10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. 37:11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 37:13 Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 37:14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.’ ”
God is clearly telling us that this Valley of dry bones, this Valley of dead bodies and ashes will be the Place where God has chosen to pour out His Holy Spirit on the whole House of Israel, for them to Live, in the coming Great World Revival and the Great Harvest of souls. This will happen here in the ben Hinnom Valley in Jerusalem.
On June 16th, 1999, as I was high in worship at Ruth Heflin’s Mount Zion Fellowship in north Jerusalem, I was suddenly given two quick visions back to back from God of this coming great outpouring of God’s Spirit falling over the ben Hinnom Valley.
In the first vision I was about 50 feet up high in the air and just to the north of Mount Zion hotel, looking out over the Mount Zion hills and the ben Hinnom Valley below, where there were many people with their hands held high up in the air, receiving the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit that was falling on them.
In the second vision which came only moments later, again I was high up in the air, but this time looking out from a different position of about 150 yards to the southeast, again seeing the same scene of the Mount Zion hills and the ben Hinnom Valley below with many people with their hands held high in the air, receiving the blessings of God’s Holy Spirit being poured out on them.
That experience of 22 years ago in June of 1999, started me on this great adventure of exploring the Scriptures, and writing about the many mysteries related to this special location of the ben Hinnom Valley found throughout all of biblical times.
Around 2008, the ben Hinnom Valley, after being cursed by God for about 2600 years, that curse was finally lifted. How do we know that that is true? Because the tour guides began announcing that the curse on the ben Hinnom Valley had finally been lifted off. Prior to that time no birds except for crows would ever go down into this Valley. And then the doves and other birds began returning to this Valley.
The ben Hinnom Valley is the Place of the coming Great Revival!
Isaiah 46:13 “I will place Salvation in Zion, for Israel My Glory!”
You have already read the prophesies about this coming Great Revival found in Amos 9:11-14. Read Joel 2:28-32; Ezekiel 39:29
Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 2:29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 2:30 And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood and fire and pillars of smoke. 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the LORD. 2:32 And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the remnant whom the LORD calls.”
Ezekiel 39:29 is at the end of the soon coming Gog Magog War: “ ‘And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the House of Israel,’ says the Lord GOD.”
This Great World Revival will begin after the end of the soon coming Gog Magog War with Russia and Iran. Ezekiel 38 and 39.
Psalm 24:3 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? 24:4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. 24:5 He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his Salvation. 24:6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.
From the beginning as it was first with Abram, God seemed to follow a biblical pattern of first His blessings in the low place, the Valley, and next His blessings on the Mountain top. And as the world today is focused on who will be worshipped and reign from God’s House on the top of Mount Zion hill in Jerusalem, very soon to be built by the Israeli Orthodox religious Jews at the end of the soon coming Gog – Magog War, so God is also very much focused on His special ben Hinnom Valley at the base of Mount Zion hill, which will be the place for the beginning of the World’s Greatest End Time Revival and the Greatest Harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God, that the world will have ever witnessed.
Later after Yeshua returns, then His blessings will also come from the House which He will build on the top of Mount Zion hill.
Yeshua, Heaven’s King and Great High Priest, shall Reign from His House, His Temple on the top of Mount Zion hill in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 2:2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORD’s House shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills. And all nations shall flow to it. 2:3 Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law (Torah), and the Word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 2:4 He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. (The identical Scripture is repeated in Micah 4:1-3)
As a special holiday gift for my readers regarding this teaching, I am also including a most special video to watch regarding this mystery of the ben Hinnom Valley. It was filmed in Jerusalem on the Feast of Yom Teruah (Rosh Ha Shanah) in the year 2000. On that Saturday morning September 30th, around 10 am, 27 believers gathered together in the ben Hinnom Valley around the stage of the Jerusalem Youth Music Center, located at the western base of Mount Zion hill, just below the Mount Zion hotel. There with seven silver trumpets we prepared to repeat the march we believed king David had taken in order to bring the Ark of the Covenant of God all the way from Kiryat Ye’arim through western Jerusalem, and then down through the ben Hinnom Valley and up into the City of David. God did amazing things with us that day over 21 years ago. Enjoy the first public showing of this video.
Then two weeks later after that march, on the fall Feast of Succoth that same year 2000, a large group of many hundreds of people gathered together again for a conference held in the ben Hinnom Valley, headed by Jan Willem Vander Hoeven. On the last night of that Succoth event Robert Stearns led worship and he also gave the evening message. Then at the end of the evening service during the closing worship, with perhaps a hundred people still remaining, the Presence of God fell Mightily on those of us still there in the ben Hinnom Valley. Many intercessors were laid out on the ground, as God impregnated that Valley for what He saw regarding the Great Harvest of souls that would be coming…
