They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
Psalm 83:4
Since the beginning of the current Hebrew year, which began in mid September last year, Israel has been experiencing a wave of terror attacks that has been called The 3rd Intifada. Intifada is the Arabic word that means an uprising. And that is exactly what is happening. The main perpetrators of this uprising are young Muslim Arab residents of Samaria or the West Bank as the media calls it. However, there have been a number of terror attacks carried out by Muslims from other areas. What is even more concerning is that several Israeli Arabs have murdered Israeli Jews over the last few months. And just over recent weeks, several terror attacks have been carried out by teenage Arab girls.
These terror attacks have been taking place almost daily and often more than once a day, and to date 30 Israeli Jews have been murdered in cold blood and more than 100 have been wounded. Israeli Jews have had enough of this constant threat of terror and are growing impatient with the government of PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s inability to protect the Jewish citizens of Israel from Muslim Arab terror. To be fair, the government has increased the presence of IDF soldiers, border police and other security personnel in Samaria and high-risk areas in Jerusalem, but the terrorists are still getting through every day. And it is very difficult for the government to increase the level of security in every part of the country.
The other reason that the government is apparently reluctant to take dramatic steps to stop the terror, is that the eyes of the world scrutinize and criticize every move that Israel makes to deal with the terrorism. The international news media and a growing number of politicians are constantly accusing Israel of using excessive force in dealing with the terrorists. It is true that the majority of terrorists are being shot and killed by soldiers and police at the scene of the attack. What on earth do Israel’s critics expect us to do? Do they expect us to lie down and let those who are attempting to murder us, do so? I wonder if they would be so critical if it was their country that was under attack.
Then there are the increasing number of universities, businesses, organisations, and even churches that are boycotting Israeli goods and services because of the way they perceive that Israel is dealing with the so-called Palestinians. In most case these claims are unfounded, but Israel is becoming more condemned and isolated as the weeks by.
In almost every country in the world, Israel has become the “bad guy” of the Middle East and has become the most hated country in the world. The primary reason for the awful way so many people think and feel about Israel is the way the news media reports on the Arab/Israeli conflict. Since the end of the Six Day War in 1967, the secular news media has been telling the world that Israeli Jews are illegally occupying Arab land. As I have written in previous articles that is a total lie. This is God’s land and He gave it to Abraham and his descendants as an everlasting possession (Genesis 15:17 – 28 & Psalm 105:6 – 11). The truth is that it is the mythical Palestinians who are the illegal occupiers. But the world has believed the lies of the media and blames Israel for the troubles in the Middle East and for much of the terror that is taking place today.
Turning back to the growing wave of terror in Israel, young Muslim Arabs are being radicalised and primed by the inflammatory rhetoric of Machmud Abbas and other leaders of the Palestinian Authority to become terrorists – even girls as young as 13. Until the PA changes its tune, the terror can only continue to increase. Abbas and the PA are also traveling to the nations, lying to and further poisoning government leaders and the media against Israel, increasing the isolation of the Jewish state, and placing enormous pressure on PM Netanyahu and his government.
In the natural, the future does not look good for Israel, but Israel has an incredible advantage. The Creator of the Universe calls Himself “The God of Israel”. He is extremely jealous for His Land and His people, and woe to anyone who attempts to do harm to His Land and His people. In Genesis 12:3 He promises to bless the people who bless Israel, and He threatens to curse or destroy the people who treat Israel lightly. Almost every government in the world today is mistreating Israel. Here are some more verses that should be of serious concern to your government and anyone who has a wrong attitude towards Israel and the Jewish people:
Psalm 2:1 – 6 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”
Joel 3:1 – 2 “For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, on behalf of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations and have divided up my land.”
Isaiah 60:12 “For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; those nations shall be utterly laid waste.”
Looking back into history all of the great empires that and leaders who attempted to destroy little Israel brought the wrath of GOD upon themselves and paid a very high price.
The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
