The wonderful glory and power of God continues in our life. Last week I underwent another MRI. Yesterday we met with the doctor and he informed us that the MRI was good! There are no signs of cancer in my brain and the scarring area is thinner which is very good.
Praise God!!! In his mercy and love he hears our prayers. He has delivered me from the work of the devil and set me free from the affliction of the enemy. Please join us in declaring that the cancer will never return. We declare Nahum 1:9 every day. “Whatever the enemy plots against the Lord he will bring to an end; Trouble will not come a second time.” Declare a mighty amen to the overcoming power and victory that is given to us through faith in the resurrection of His Son.
As often occurs, in the midst of the good report our oncologist added some negative input. He told us that although the MRI is visually clean there are almost certainly still cancer cells in my brain which they cannot see. Here is a wonderful place where we can share a lesson that we have learned and apply daily in our lives.
Overcoming By The Word of God
Proverbs 4:20 declares: “give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes: Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”
First, we must fill ourselves with the Scriptures. A day does not go by that we do not invest a large portion of time to listening to the Word. We “incline our ear” to God’s sayings. With faith we receive it into our hearts and keep it before our eyes.
The simple outworking of this is that when we receive a bad report from the doctor (or any difficult event in life) we always have the choice to see things through the devil’s perception or to see our situation through the Word of God. One is filled with the life, hope and the healing of the Lord. The other is filled with the discouragement of the enemy. WE CHOOSE TO SEE THINGS THROUGH GOD’S WONDERFUL PROMISES! We keep his Word before our eyes and cast down the lies of the enemy.
We listen to the doctor, but in our hearts, we quickly dismiss his negative report. The choice is ours and we choose life and hope, not death and discouragement. According to God’s Word, He has destroyed the works of the enemy. The power of the devil has been overcome by the death and resurrection of Yeshua. We look upon his wonderful words and in so doing, the power of the enemy is removed from my life and body and replaced by God’s hope and promises.
This simple and powerful choice brings victory to our lives. No matter what the challenge and what the attack of the enemy is in your life- choose to live by God’s Word and let his victory be loosed in your life. A wonderful testimony will result which will touch those around you.
Another Personal Testimony
Yesterday’s trip to the hospital was again filled with amazing grace. The doctor told us to arrive at 8AM and as expected, we waited until 11:00 when he finally called us.
We were sitting as usual in the doctor’s small and private waiting room. After a few minutes, Sarah and her daughter Karen entered the room and sat down next to us. Sarah, a secular Israeli in her 60’s is suffering from the same type of brain cancer that I was diagnosed with. We started a warm and loving conversation with them and we felt an immediate connection. The daughter was very impressed and encouraged by my story. We shared with them that we were Jewish believers in Yeshua and that my faith was the source of the good report! We shared how we love to pray for others and believe that God has given us authority to heal the sick. When we asked if she would like us to pray for her, Sarah’s resounding response was; “Yes! Please pray for me.”
We laid hands upon her and loosed the healing power of God within her body. A few minutes later, the doctor called them, but before they left, we took their phone number and the daughter mentioned that her husband’s parents were believers but he had not followed in the faith since he was a young man. That was amazing! We know this was a divine appointment and not a chance meeting! We will certainly have more contact with them.
Wednesday was Israel’s Memorial Day and Thursday was “Yom HaAtsmaut”, Independence Day.
As the siren sounded all throughout the nation on Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm, all places of entertainment including restaurants were closed as the 24 hour period of mourning commenced for the 23,447 soldiers who have died defending this nation and for the victims of terror. Again at 11:00 am, the two minute siren sounded and the entire nation stopped and remembered. Even though we were in the middle of the conversation with the doctor, we all stood in silence, honoring the memory of those who were gone. Cemeteries around the nation were filled with people attending the solemn ceremonies.
And then on Wednesday evening at 8PM, the long and sorrow filled Day of Remembrance was suddenly transformed into a celebration of thanksgiving for the birth of this nation 68 years ago. That which God promised so many times in the Bible was fulfilled in 1948. In spite of an unending battle for its existence, Israel is today a growing, prosperous and blessed nation. He who promised is Faithful. The Jewish people have returned to their land!
That evening, the streets of most every city and town were filled with people coming out to joyfully celebrate and to watch the fireworks. The day of Yom HaAtsmaut is a national picnic/BBQ day. Since most people live in apartments they are not able to grill out at home. So on this day, masses of Israelis fill every park as the tradition of grilling meat outdoors on Independence Day is passed down from generation to generation.
It is truly an honor and a privilege to be a part of living Israel and to be called out as one of those who bring the Good News of Messiah to God’s Chosen People.
Keep Praying! There is still so much more to come. And as God uses all of us to bless Israel that same blessing will spill out and bless the entire earth.
