The Laws of the Creator cannot be broken for long with impunity.
Life is not static, but dynamic. A decision that is made is not a step from one point to stop and rest at another, but a step that establishes the direction of ongoing future steps. A step in a wrong direction leads to another step, and another further into that wrong direction until the right direction is virtually lost, and ultimate consequences prevail. If a warning sign reading ‘Do Not Enter: Hungry Crocodiles’ is ignored, none should be terribly surprised if ultimately devoured by the crocs. Decisions have consequences.
Laws planted in and running the universe are not to be easily dismissed without dire consequences. Leaping from an airplane without a proper parachute will lead to a predictable disaster. Also, we should not allow ourselves to be lulled into the illusion that small, incremental steps in the wrong direction will not slowly lead to an ultimate avalanche- like ignoring those tiny termites chewing on your foundation until some time later it collapses under your feet.
The only sane response to this scenario is to discern which is the Wrong Way, and then to turn around to the Right Way. In the Messiah, our Creator has provided the door through which to turn and return and be forgiven and cleansed and given a second chance in the right direction. But is it ever too late? A stampede of buffalo could be averted while the herd was still a mile from the precipice, but just step out of the way if they are barrelling toward the cliff at fifty yards.
It is up to us, either to “do that which is good and right in the sight of YHVH,” or to choose to travel further into crocodile infested swamps. The Laws of the Creator cannot be broken for long with impunity.
Consider the options:
“I have this day laid before you life and death, the blessing and the curse, therefore choose life…Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you for ever, when you do that which is good and right in the sight of YHVH your God… And all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you, if you will obey the voice of YHVH your God…But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to the voice of YHVH your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day, that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you…” – Deuteronomy
